OUR PHILOSOPHY
Thank you for your interest, we are excited to have you as part of our basketball community!
It has been said that 90% of high school coaches do not know the rules of the game; therefore, the percentage of players who know the rules is even smaller. Our organization is founded on the belief that if young athletes are taught to play within the rules of the game, they can utilize this knowledge to complement their skills and become more confident and well-rounded players on the court.
Although fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting are important to learn, our clinics will not be focused on these. Play The Whistle strives to help players gain an advantage by knowing how to play within the rules through instruction and drills followed with reinforcement in a live game setting. With access to more repetition in a competitive but informal live game format - where stopping play when necessary to teach and correct will occur - players will be less apprehensive and find playing the game of basketball more enjoyable.
